Clermont Interiors
Clermont Interiors is the creation of Claire Clermont. Having had years of experience in Interior Design, Claire started working at her kitchen table, making blinds, curtains, and cushions for a whole range of clients.
A joint venture business was established in 2013 and we soon moved into our current home on Kings Road. From 2020 the business became Claire’s sole concern.
The showroom and workshop have become a hive of activity with the colourful window displays and vast array of pattern books drawing people in. In recent years team has grown, welcoming Maisie Bisson as part of the design and workshop team and Gill Toms in the office. We also work with a fantastic team of fitters, decorators, and upholsterers.
From early beginnings on the kitchen table in 2013 we are now taking on over 100 projects a year and are passionate about giving back to the community through extensive charity projects and donations. We can’t wait to continue to grow and work on more challenging and exciting projects each year!
Meet the Team
Claire Clermont
After making clothing from an early age, I completed an HND Stitched Textiles and Fashion Course, quickly followed by a degree course in Theatre and Performance Costume at Edinburgh College of Art. So, I have always had an interest in the creative arts.
I renovated many of my own properties while doing these courses, also obtaining a Teaching qualification, and raising a family.
The natural transition for my career was then to become an interior designer which I now have been doing for over 15 years.
I love working with a huge range of fabrics and textures to create a welcoming atmosphere. Blending client’s own styles with new ideas always within budget is always a great challenge.
Maisie Bisson
I joined Clermont Interiors in 2021 after running Counterstitch, a bespoke clothing and alterations business. I started sewing aged 12 and love the process of crafting long lasting, sustainable pieces. Having just finished an Interior Design Foundation Course with the Open College of the Arts, I am passionate about creating vibrant, user led spaces that don’t compromise function for design.
Gill Toms
I have become an established member or Clermont Interiors managing the financial records and all aspects in the office. My job is very busy and varied as Clermont Interiors is a hub of activity every day, with every day being different. I thoroughly enjoy watching the creativity unfolding around me and I love working with Claire, Trystan and Maisie and being part of an amazing team.
Trystan Koyupinar
I have recently started working at Clermont Interiors and love being part of a creative team. Before joining the company, I worked a wide variety of jobs from reception at the vaccine centre to part of the marketing team for an international business. I started sewing a year ago and developed a passion for it that I am enjoying developing at Clermont Interiors.
